General disclaimer

Information on this site is for educational purposes only and is not legal, tax, or financial advice. Consult a licensed CPA or attorney before acting. The Latitude Plan structure described is conceptual; specifics depend on your operations and applicable law.

Our role

Reinsurance Specialties is a consulting firm. It is not an insurance company. We do not underwrite risk, issue policies, or provide actuarial, legal, tax, or accounting services. Those functions are performed by licensed third parties: an independent actuary assesses the uninsured and underinsured risks of the business and recommends premiums, a licensed third-party insurance carrier underwrites, prices, and issues the policies and administers claims, an administrator prepares cession statements, financial reports, and tax returns, and a sovereign tribal domicile charters and regulates the company. Reinsurance Specialties educates prospective clients, coordinates those third parties, and provides ongoing consulting to the owners of the resulting structures.

No offer or engagement

Nothing on this website constitutes an offer to sell insurance, a binding quotation, or the formation of a professional engagement. An engagement with Reinsurance Specialties begins only upon a signed written agreement following a suitability review.

Suitability

A privately owned reinsurance company is not appropriate for every business. Suitability depends on, among other things, revenue, profitability, retained risk profile, ownership structure, and existing coverage. Certain businesses (including publicly traded companies, companies with employee stock ownership plans, and private-equity-backed firms with EBITDA-based covenants) may face structural complications. Every prospective client undergoes a formal actuarial and suitability assessment before any structure is recommended.

Tax matters

Federal and state tax treatment depends on your individual facts and circumstances and on laws and regulations that may change. Statements on this site describing tax characteristics of insurance companies are general descriptions of statutory frameworks, not predictions of outcomes for your business. Reinsurance Specialties encourages every prospective client to involve their own CPA and tax counsel from the first conversation.

Results & statistics

Figures cited on this site (including industry adoption rates, aggregate private reinsurance assets, and typical premium spreads) are drawn from industry sources and Reinsurance Specialties’ operating experience. They describe markets and structures in general, not guaranteed results for any client. Underwriting profit is contingent on actual claims experience.

Testimonials

Client testimonials reflect the individual experiences of the persons quoted, are published with their permission, and are not representative of every client’s outcome. No testimonial should be read as a promise of similar results.
